Unite back Shelly for LYL Chair

I am delighted to today announce that my campaign for Chair of London Young Labour has been endorsed by my union, Unite.

Both my father and grandfather were union members, which has made me aware of the trade union movement and its essential role from a young age. I am proud of my trade union roots and passionate about the important part our affiliates play in shaping the Party and ensuring greater representation of ordinary working people.

As part of my campaign for Chair of London Young Labour, I have pledged to take our message to branch meetings across the city, in an effort to recruit more young workers. I also look forward to joining with Unite and other unions in their campaigns on pensions, the health service, job cuts and more.

These issues affect Londoners young and old, but it is London Young Labour that has the potential to mobilise our members to come out in great numbers to campaign on issues and ensure we are winning for Labour.
